Visiting PG Students (Coursework Only)
- Students currently registered at a recognized tertiary institution outside of Hong Kong may be admitted to take course(s) on a short-term basis at HKUST as Visiting PG students. They normally enroll for one semester, and can at most enroll for two semesters upon approval of their major department.
- Visiting PG students are not expected to take courses from executive master’s programs such as KH EMBA, HKUST EMBA and MSc GFIN. Except for MBA students, Visiting PG students are enrolled on courses rather than on specific degree programs at HKUST.
Admission
- Applicants for Visiting PG are required to seek agreement from the Department concerned for admission before applying via the PG OAS. Information for applicants is available at https://fytgs.hkust.edu.hk/vpgs.
- The application deadline for Fall Term is 31 May, and that for Spring Term is 31 October.
- Applicants should upload a completed Support from Home University/ Institution Form to their online application to indicate support from their home institution.
Registration and Administration
- Applicants who need a student visa / entry permit to study in Hong Kong may apply through HKUST. For details please refer to https://fytgs.hkust.edu.hk/visa. Students are only allowed to proceed to program registration with a valid visa.
- It is compulsory for Visiting PG students to subscribe to the HKUST Compulsory Travel Insurance Plan for their studies at HKUST. Students are only allowed to proceed to program registration with the subscribed insurance plan.
- Visiting PG students are charged a standard per-credit tuition fee. Visiting MBA students would be charged a per-semester fee to be determined by SBM based on the prevailing MBA tuition fees.
- Visiting PG students will register as full-time students and are subjected to the academic regulations of the University. They will have access to all on-campus educational, sports and recreational facilities enjoyed by regular students of the University.
- Visiting PG Students are not entitled to any financial assistance from the University or the HKSAR Government, and are expected to make their own accommodation arrangements.
- Visiting PG Students will receive an academic transcript at the end of the visiting period. A copy will be sent to their home institution for record.
- Visiting PG students may not receive any degree or diploma award of the University in the capacity of a visiting student.
