PG Exchange Students

  1. Before arranging exchange students from a new partner institution to come to HKUST, the relevant School/Program Office should provide the following to FYTGS:
    1. confirmation that PG exchange agreement was established with the partner institution and
    2. a list of students nominated.

  2. Students nominated to come to HKUST for exchange should first consult the appropriate School / Program for course enrolment, accommodation, scholarship and other details. They should then submit their particulars through the PG OAS by 31 May for Fall Term, and 31 October for Spring Term respectively. Information for applicants is available at https://fytgs.hkust.edu.hk/exchange.

  3. It is compulsory for Exchange PG students to subscribe to the HKUST Compulsory Travel Insurance Plan for their studies at HKUST.  Students are only allowed to proceed to program registration with the subscribed insurance plan.

  4. In case a partner institution already has an insurance plan that covers the exchange, Schools can send a request to FYTGS by e-mail for a waiver. This provision, however, is not applicable to requests from individual students.

  5. Applicants who need a student visa / entry permit to study in Hong Kong may apply through HKUST.  For details please refer to https://fytgs.hkust.edu.hk/visa. Students are only allowed to proceed to program registration with a valid visa.

  6. At the end of the exchange period, an academic transcript will be issued to the student. A copy will be sent to their home institution for record.
